What was your main inspiration for traveling to Morocco?
The people, art, textiles, culture, and landscape.
How did your experience compare to your other travels?
It wasn’t like anywhere I’ve ever been. Everything around me was a new experience, the food, the people and the culture. It was my first real trip to that
part of the world.

Anything specific there that has inspired your upcoming collection?
The Jardin Majorelle, a botanical garden and artist’s landscape garden, once owned by Yves Saint-Laurent and Pierre Bergé. I fell in love with all the cacti and tiles in the garden.

Most cherished item you discovered during your trip?
The rugs. I purchased about 16 in total. Rugs are my kryptonite.

Anything notable you can describe about the interior design, furniture, lighting, and more?
The incredible attention to detail in everything from the tiles, metal tables, lanterns, cushions, and rugs all the way down to the glass tea pots and tea cups. It was unlike anything I’ve ever seen.

Hotel Les Deux Tours in Marrakech, Morocco. It was this stunning oasis in the middle of a desert palm area of Marrakech. The aesthetic was so authentic, yet modern and super comfortable, sticking to the Moroccan traditions. The food was delicious, too!
The Marrakech Souk.
I ate tajines almost every night.

“There are some amazing places in this world that are impressive, that you can also feel at peace with visiting just once. Morocco is not one of them. It’s definitely a part of the world that I will return to multiple times in my life.”
